Package Contents: Includes two (2) Yellow Bells (Tecoma stans) starter plants. Each plant measures approximately 5-9 inches in height. Plants are supplied in a bare-root state for immediate planting.

Continuous Flowering: Produces large clusters of bright, trumpet-shaped yellow flowers that bloom profusely from spring through late fall. The vibrant floral display is consistent even during periods of intense summer heat.

Pollinator Habitat: The tubular shape of the blooms serves as a nectar source for hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Planting this shrub supports local pollinator populations by providing a reliable food source throughout the growing season.

Heat and Drought Adaptability: Native to arid and subtropical regions, Tecoma stans is highly resistant to drought once established. It thrives in full sun and high temperatures, making it a suitable choice for low-water landscapes and xeriscaping.

Versatile Growth Form: Can be maintained as a medium-sized shrub in containers or allowed to grow into a small tree in frost-free zones (USDA 9-11). In cooler climates (Zones 4-8), it functions as a fast-growing, blooming annual.

Planting Note: Tecoma species have high transpiration rates and may drop leaves during shipping to conserve moisture. This is a normal physiological response. The woody stems remain viable and will regenerate new foliage rapidly after planting and hydration.

Brighten Your Landscape with Desert Gold

Yellow Bells (Tecoma stans), also known as Esperanza or Yellow Elder, is a celebrated landscape plant known for its ability to produce masses of golden blooms when other plants fade in the heat. Native to the Americas, this subtropical shrub offers a combination of lush, serrated green foliage and brilliant yellow trumpet flowers. Whether used as a focal point in a garden bed or a centerpiece in a patio pot, it delivers high-impact color.

A Favorite of Hummingbirds The bright yellow trumpets are not just decorative; they are functional. They are perfectly shaped to accommodate hummingbirds, making this plant a top choice for wildlife enthusiasts. By planting Yellow Bells, you create a natural feeding station that encourages these fascinating birds to visit your garden regularly.

Built for the Sun This plant is a survivor. It flourishes in the blazing sun that causes many other flowering shrubs to wilt. Its heat tolerance makes it an excellent candidate for planting near reflective surfaces like driveways, pools, or western-facing walls.

Flexible Growing Options

In Zones 9-11: It grows as a perennial, often remaining evergreen in the warmest winters.

In Zones 4-8: It acts as a vigorous annual. Because it blooms on new growth, it will flower heavily in its first season, providing a full summer of color before the first frost.

Planting Information These starter plants are shipped bare-root to ensure the health of the root system during transit. While they may appear leafless or wilted upon arrival due to shipping stress, the energy stored in the roots allows them to recover quickly. Once planted in well-draining soil and watered, they will push fresh green growth and flower buds.
