Package Contents: Includes two (2) Orange Jubilee (Tecoma stans) starter plants. Each plant measures approximately 5-9 inches in height. Plants are supplied in a bare-root state for immediate planting.
Tropical Visual Appeal: Features clusters of tubular, trumpet-shaped flowers in a vibrant red-orange hue. The blooms hang in loose bunches against a backdrop of glossy, dark green serrated foliage, creating a lush, tropical appearance.
Pollinator Attraction: The trumpet-shaped blossoms are specifically adapted to attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Planting this shrub creates a natural feeding station for local pollinators throughout the blooming season.
Heat and Sun Tolerance: Native to subtropical regions, this species is highly adapted to intense sun and high temperatures. It thrives in locations with full sun exposure where more delicate flowering shrubs may wilt or scorch.
Versatile Growth Habit: Functions as a large, upright shrub or can be trained into a small tree in frost-free zones (USDA 9-11). In cooler climates (Zones 4-8), it serves as a fast-growing summer annual suitable for large patio containers.
Planting Note: Tecoma plants are fast growers with high transpiration rates. Leaves may appear wilted or drop upon arrival due to shipping stress. This is a normal physiological response; the woody stems and roots remain viable and will regenerate foliage quickly.
Bring the Heat and the Hummingbirds to Your Garden
If you are looking for a plant that laughs at the summer sun, meet the Orange Jubilee (Tecoma stans). Often called "Orange Bells" or "Esperanza," this subtropical shrub is a powerhouse of color. While other plants retreat from the mid-summer heat, the Tecoma Stans bursts into action, producing masses of fiery orange trumpet flowers that last until the first frost. Our 2-Pack of starter plants allows you to establish a tropical focal point in your landscape or patio design.
A Magnet for Wildlife The tubular shape of the Orange Jubilee’s flowers is nature’s perfect design for hummingbirds. The rich nectar draws them in, turning your garden into a buzzing hub of activity. It is not uncommon to see bees and butterflies joining the feast, adding life and movement to your outdoor space.
Fast Growth for Instant Impact One of the key benefits of Tecoma stans is its vigor. It is a rapid grower that can establish quickly.
In the Ground (Zones 9-11): It becomes a permanent, evergreen shrub or small tree that can reach impressive heights.
In Containers (Zones 4-8): It acts as a spectacular annual. Because it blooms on new wood, it will flower profusely in its first season, making it excellent for decorative pots on sunny decks.
Low Maintenance Beauty Once established, this plant is surprisingly drought-tolerant. It prefers deep watering but does not require constant attention, making it ideal for xeriscaping or low-water garden designs.
Planting Information These starter plants are shipped bare-root to ensure the root system remains healthy without the weight of soil. Upon arrival, simply hydrate the roots and plant them in well-draining soil. With sun and water, they will bounce back from shipping and begin their rapid vertical growth.
