WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE: You will receive 1 healthy Ouachita Blackberry plant (Rubus), currently 5-9 inches tall. This robust, bare-root starter is shipped ready to plant with a vigorous root system, designed to establish quickly for years of reliable fruit production.

NO TRELLIS REQUIRED: Maximize your garden space with this superior "erect" variety. Unlike trailing vines, Ouachita canes grow upright and sturdy, often supporting their own weight. This makes them perfect for neat hedgerows or compact patio containers without the need for complex support structures.

PAIN-FREE HARVESTING: Enjoy the fruit without the thorns. These 100% thornless canes make berry picking a safe, fun activity for children and gardeners of all ages. The plant features lush green foliage and white spring blossoms, adding vertical beauty to your landscape.

PREMIUM FRUIT QUALITY: Experience the difference of "Ouachita" berries—famous for their excellent size, sweetness, and firmness. Unlike softer varieties, these berries hold their shape well after picking, keeping fresh in the fridge longer for snacking, baking, or salads.

DISEASE RESISTANT & RELIABLE: Engineered for success by the University of Arkansas, this variety boasts exceptional resistance to Rosette (Double Blossom) disease. Hardy in USDA Zones 6-9, it is a low-maintenance, consistent producer that ripens mid-season (typically June-July).

ARRIVE ALIVE GUARANTEE: We prioritize plant health using eco-friendly moisture retention packaging to protect roots during transit. If your plant does not arrive in excellent condition, simply contact us immediately for a replacement or resolution.

UNBOXING CARE: Unbox immediately. If roots appear dry, soak in water for 1-2 hours. Plants may arrive dormant (leafless); this is normal. Plant in full sun and keep moist. New green growth will emerge as the root system settles.

Main Color: White (Blooms), Black (Fruit)
Sun Exposure: Full sun (6+ hours)
Blooming Period: Spring
Moisture Needs: Regular watering
USDA Hardiness Zone Range: 6-9
Mature Height: In containers: 4-5 feet, In ground: 5-6 feet
Ideal Soil Type: Loam soil, Sandy soil (Well-draining, pH 6.0-6.8)

Care Instructions:
Plant in full sun (6+ hours) in well-draining, slightly acidic soil (pH 6.0-6.8). Dig a hole deep enough for roots to spread straight down. Water thoroughly after planting and maintain consistent moisture (1 inch/week). Mulch base to retain moisture. While Ouachita is erect, a simple stake can help support heavy fruit loads. Tipping canes at 4-5 feet encourages lateral branching and more fruit. Prune old fruiting canes to the ground in winter.
