WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE: You will receive 1 healthy Apache Blackberry plant (Rubus), currently 5-9 inches tall. This live starter is shipped ready to plant, boasting a vigorous root system that establishes quickly to produce years of massive fruit harvests.
GROW THE LARGEST BERRIES: Impress your neighbors with the "Apache" difference—this variety is famous for producing some of the largest thornless blackberries on the market. Enjoy jumbo, conical fruit that is bursting with sweet, high-quality flavor and melts in your mouth.
NO TRELLIS NEEDED: Save time and space with this unique "erect" variety. Unlike trailing vines that require complex support systems, Apache canes grow upright and self-supporting. This makes them perfect for neat hedgerows, compact gardens, or standalone patio pots.
PAIN-FREE PICKING: Enjoy a harvest without the hurt. These 100% thornless canes make berry picking a fun, safe activity for the whole family. The lush green foliage and white spring blooms also attract butterflies and pollinators, beautifying your yard before the harvest.
DISEASE RESISTANT & ROBUST: Engineered for success, the Apache variety offers excellent resistance to Orange Rust and withstands cold winters (Zones 5-9). Its robust nature makes it an ideal choice for beginners looking for a low-maintenance, high-reward gardening experience.
ARRIVE ALIVE GUARANTEE: Your plant is carefully packaged in eco-friendly materials to retain moisture and protect roots during shipping. If your plant does not arrive in excellent condition, please contact us immediately for a resolution.
UNBOXING CARE: Unbox immediately upon arrival. If the roots are dry, soak them briefly in water. Keep the plant in a shaded area for 24-48 hours to acclimatize before planting in a sunny location with well-draining soil.
Main Color: White (Blooms), Black (Fruit)
Sun Exposure: Full sun (6+ hours)
Blooming Period: Spring
Moisture Needs: Regular watering
USDA Hardiness Zone Range: 5-9
Mature Height: In containers: 4-5 feet, In ground: 5-6 feet
Ideal Soil Type: Loam soil, Sandy soil (Well-draining, pH 6.0-6.8)
Care Instructions:
Plant in full sun (6+ hours) in well-draining, slightly acidic soil (pH 6.0-6.8). Dig a hole deep enough for roots to spread straight down. Water thoroughly after planting and maintain consistent moisture (1 inch/week). Mulch base to retain water and suppress weeds. Because Apache is erect, tipping the canes when they reach 4-5 feet encourages lateral branching and more fruit. Prune old fruiting canes to the ground in winter.
