Normal Aging
Banana plants naturally shed older leaves as they grow. If it's just the lowest, oldest leaves turning brown while new growth looks healthy, this is simply part of the plant's normal cycle.
Underwatering
Banana plants are thirsty and will show brown, crispy leaf edges when they dry out between waterings. Consistent, deep watering usually resolves this quickly.
Cold Damage
Even a light frost or a cold snap can cause leaves to brown and die back. This is largely cosmetic - the plant typically recovers and pushes new growth once temperatures warm up.
Fungal Leaf Spot
